Currently all positions are "contract-to-hire" with a full-time position typically offered after six-months on contract. While these jobs are also telecommute positions, we're currently looking for DC-area applicants. Associate Digital Designer

Digital Designers develop the design language for various digital products for our clients. Projects range from graphic design to website design, all with a focus on digital distribution. We're looking for individuals who are fanatical about design and strive to continue to hone and improve their skills. Velocity's designers are an integral part of our process and frequently interact with our clients.

  • 2+ years experience designing for online mediums
  • Solid sketching skills
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Basic understanding of XHTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • A strong desire to go to the moon (this may be negotiable)
  • Experience with Content Management Systems like WordPress and Textpattern
  • Experience on a political campaign or volunteering for a non-profit

Associate Online Developer

Velocity's Online Developers work closely with our Digital Designers to take our projects from content to launch. We're looking for individuals who are detail-oriented with a strong knowledge of best practices and passionate about clean and modular code design.

  • 2+ years experience developing for online distribution
  • Knowledge of XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL
  • Experience with jQuery
  • Experience with APIs
  • A love of rockets (non negotiable)
  • Experience with Content Management Systems like WordPress and Textpattern
  • Knowledge of the Salsa CRM or a related database system
  • Experience on a political campaign or volunteering for a non-profit

Summer Internships

Design Intern

Velocity's design interns aspect our Associate Designers on every asspect of a design project. Intership lengths are negotiable, but typically last about four months and we are willing to work with students to get class credits. The best part? We pay.

  • Solid sketching skills
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Basic understanding of XHTML and CSS
  • Ownership of a space suit (we may need to borrow it)
  • Experience on a political campaign or volunteering for a non-profit
